WEEEEKKK 4 NEW WEEK NEW MEEE BAABAYYYYYYY
guys omg I am absolutely loving how long the sun has been out today
anyway the title is pretty self explanatory :D Today's post is gonna be touching on a bit more of planning! There's a couple things (like 3) I've gathered these past couple of days to get ready for the actual production portion of our project and I got some yap to get out of me in regards to these things for a lovely A, so that's what I am now going to do!
1. EL SOMBRERO
So I don't really remember if I ever mentioned any parts of Otto's potential costume in past blog posts but here I am now to explain to you some things my lovely Cambridge examiners :D At first we were thinking of making Otto wear a fez which was a thang worn often by the lovely Ottoman's during the peak of the Ottoman Empire I believe. When I asked Joaquin why he was thinking of including this hat to Otto's look he was like "cuz it's cool lol" and I was like "type shi :D" I also don't know if I ever told you guys this either but we did think for a short amount of time about implementing an Ottoman Empire aesthetic and symbolism throughout our piece but in the end we concluded that we'd rather just eliminate all of that for better simplicity and more creative freedom and space to add in some crazy, original stuffs and making our own aesthetic as a result instead π
After that choice was made, my group and I began to brainstorm what else Otto could wear instead of an Ottoman fez. I thought about all the hats and accessories I have in my lovely home and what came to mind was
1. A black top hat
2.A military army cap thingy
3. horse mask
4. red and black sombrero
final choice?
EL SOMBREROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Otto will now be wearing a red and black sombrero as you've seen in some of my doodles of her :D And it looks pretty kickass! Also just for clarification, we did NOTTT make this choice because we wanted a Spanish aesthetic instead NAW kinda like how we (at first) decided to go with the fez cause cool, we went with this sombrero cause SUPA COOL! I didn't even have to show a picture of it to Joaquin and Andrew, literally after just describing it they were all like "wait thats fye" and so we went with it!! I'd say Otto with a red and black sombrero was truly definitely a match made in heaven because not only does it look pretty cool and awesome, but also because it's red and black! And that's the main aesthetic we're going for with the art direction in our short film! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOO YAYYY YAYYY PICASSO EMI IS SO HAPPY
Within our short film, Otto begins by wearing this hat in a way that seems pretty silly as she's just starting out the deal and has NO idea how far deep she will go into it and how she will literally lose all of her humanity cause of it. By the end of da movie, Otto wears her hat in a scary lookin way, like eyes almost covered and shadows looming over her face typa way cause she turns supa evil and stuff :D ITS GONNA BE SO COOL! This right down below me is a great visualization of how Otto will look like with her hat throughout the film made by our super awesome teammate Andrew Zamboni :D
Like I mentioned briefly a couple posts ago, I got a Canon Rebel T7 for Christmas and have been using it frequently since :D I got a whole ton of landscapes, nature, animals, and people on my roll which I think is pretty worth showing to really establish here my supa skills and love for da cam >:D

A few days ago I thought about getting a tripod for my camera in order to be able to get some easy breezy BTS pics and footage in a convenient manner during film days, but before I asked my parents to get a whole new one, I asked if we already had one somewhere collecting dust. My supa awesome dad said yes and brought out a tripod compatible with my cam from the garage and showed me how to work it :] Thank you dad!
Annddd yeah! :D That should be it for today my beautiful amazing awesome cambridge examiners! Be on the look out for some more blog posts this coming week! I'll be touching on a whole ton of artsy stuff like character development and costume design so stay tuned for some really cool stuff in the future! As for now, I am Emi Valdivia, thank you for listening to me talk about sombreros and cameras for over 20 minutes and may you all have a goodnight, good day, good evening, dusk, dawn, multidimensional space time continuum, literally whatever!
