GRRHAHAHGAHAHGRJ SOCIAL MEDIA AAGAGAHHAGAAHHAHAGAHAHAH PART 1: LOCO @loco_shortfilm

So today in class we were tasked to go online and search for any social media pages similar to our own project :D Since Joaquin, Andrew, and I chose short film for our lovely piece, we had to go on the internet and search for any social media pages whether that be Insta, TikTok, Facebook, or what have you, that are also for short films! At first I thought we just had to search up pages for any media text similar to our project's genre but I was completely wrong!! I had to dig IN!! After going outside with the entire class for better internet, many deep dives into every single Google search I made, and 10 quatrillion "have you guys found anything yet"s, I finally found two pretty good social media pages! :D Both for super duper obscure short films that I have never ever in my life heard about! LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The first page I found was for the short film, "Loco" directed by Eddie Mujica, a dark comedy film all about anxiety. The platform these guys used to get their film out to our lovely world was Instagram! Which is what I plan to do for our social media page :D I lobe Insta :D It's nice to use :DD One of the very first things that stood out to my two eyes (and my super duper secret third), was the color palette and fonts chosen for most of the beginning posts as well as the profile picture! I actually really love the bright neon cursive font used here on this page, it really stands out :] I think it also goes well with the film's general plot and theme as its about anxiety and idk about u guys but bright neon green just screamsAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAHAHAHAHHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH in the best way possible :D

If you take a look to the right of your lovely screen, you'll be able to see how Loco's social media page appears at first glance. The fonts, description, high quality BTS pics, and profile picture already make a whole statement about the film and builds interest among viewers (it did for me :D). All the posts here at the top, are made with Loco's very near release in mind, as there are a plethora of BTS, crew pictures, one key art post, and most of all, A TRAILER! It's important to keep audiences hooked with your film, especially when its release is RIGHT around the corner and this page definitely did that pretty well :D

For my social media page, I intend to also release a short clip from our film near its official release (April 10th cause that's the day I must turn this project in or else the Cambridge Lads will come for my head :DDDDD) along with a good amount of crew pics, perchance celebrating the end of production. I'm already imagining like a picture of Joaquin, Andrew, and I, and any other people that we may get for our film, posing happily in a picture after our last day of filming, with the caption "FILMING COMPLETE!" and it's super happy and whimsical and stuff my gosh I am so excited to make this thing Cambridge i love u

Now moving on to the middle of Loco's Insta page! Because oh yes, my flying unicorn monkeys! There's some more content to unpack! I GOT INSPIRATION FOR DAYYYYSSSSAHAHAHAHAHAH ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !  I'd definitely say that this specific part of the social media page is arguably the weakest in terms of branding. After the "meet the crew" posts from the beginning of the page, the posts highkey deviate from the colors and general aesthetic of the film which bothers me a teeny tiny bit. It isn't the biggest deal but I'd love if these posts actually remained true to the brandinggggughghghhhghhf BUT THEY'RE STILL AWESOME! This section of the page mainly features one on one videos with the film's director and some pretty nice BTS with the location scouting video :D These videos are all pretty funny and personally makes me invested in what this director has to offer to us viewers with his silly little short film about anxiety and stuff!

I think it'll be super duper cool to feature our film's director (Joaquin :D) or producer (me :D), or sound designer (Andrew :D), or art director (me :D), or actors (all of us :D)!! It would be a super nice way to connect with our audience and put our short film out there in the big seas of the internet for all to see and enjoy. Another thing from this section that I would love to take away are the BTS videos like the location scouting one! I'm definitely going to be documenting a whole ton of our production days not only for this blog but also for the social media page! It's gonna be so very fun.

OKAY WAIT HOLD ON IM NOT DONE YET

There's one more part here for all you lovely England people (and tstok hi tstok isn't this post super awesome so far) to look at!! THIS PART OF THE PAGE ALONG WITH THE MOST RECENT POSTS ARE THE BEST IN TERMS OF BRANDING! I love to see it :D Like some Insta pages do it to introduce their super awesome stuffs, these guys chose to make one post at a time to construct a picture of their logo along with the directors name at the bottom! Obviously, as time went on and as more posts were made, this became a little drowned out which is why an entire picture is no longer really constructed but I'm sure when the page first started it was super duper cool and awesome! And it still is! Just a lil wonky now :D

I'm still debating whether or not I'd like to do the same thing here with my social media page since it's something I've never done and don't know how to do correctly BUTTT I can always learn! It's tedious at times but I always trust the process :] This could be a really nice introduction to my social media page and the branding of our short film so I'm leading towards including it in the beginning of our page :D It's important though that I first watch some tutorials on YouTube and stuff like that to actually understand how these types of postings work and how to execute them well! More to come with time but I'm likely going with this approach after I lock in on its inner workings >:D

OKAY OKAY LETS GOO LETS GOO LETS GOO COME ON WE'RE MOVING ON COME ON LETS GOO HURRY UP TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE LETS GOOOO LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

GRRHAHAHGAHAHGRJ SOCIAL MEDIA AAGAGAHHAGAAHHAHAGAHAHAH PART 2: DEADHEADING @deadheadingfilm

The page for this film at first glance actually looks pretty cool with all the super duper high quality BTS images being thrown around here :D Some feature the actors and some others feature the crew which is something that I definitely would love to implement into my own social media page! Some could feature all of us in our costumes for our own respective characters and some others could feature us as our normal director/producer/sound designer/art director selves! I'd love to achieve this level of high quality for each picture, and for that I'm planning on using my Canon EOS Rebel T7, a super duper awesome camera that I got for Christmas :] I have some pretty good experience on it as I have been photographing with it for 2 months now so I'm really excited to use it in and out of set to capture some sick ass BTS :DD LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

fav pic of mine I took with my canon :]

OKOK BRB! I must go eat lunch now :DD

Hello super awesome blog readers I am now back from lunch! :D I bought myself like 15 mins here in my current class so here I go!! IM A SPEEDRUNNER BABY IM A SPEEDRUNNER AHAHAHHAHAHHAHAGAGAGGGAHAHFAHGAGAGHAHAJ

where was i

YES!

Moving on from the most recent part of Dead Heading's page! We are now in the middle section! Most posts in this area are videos featuring the crew members either talking about their own film or other films! It's a pretty fun way for audiences to get to know the people behind the piece of media they are watching :D Here, the colors are mostly dark browns with some yellows and greens incorporated within, which builds some type of brand but it fails to remain consistent                                                                                                                                  short film social media pages try to remain consistent with their branding challenge IMPOSSIBLE                                                                                                                                                                             Apart from that though, I would likely take some pretty good inspiration from this part of the social media page! The branding, unlike the rest of the page, stays pretty consistent with its dark browns and blacks and is very engaging to audiences looking to find tons more information about Dead Heading through the cast and crew members! I would love to have a special Emi video where I go over anything art direction or acting as Otto, a special Joaquin video going over some screenplay processes and direction, and a special Andrew video going over the creation of the post card and sound design for the film! I think video is probably one of the most engaging ways to present anything important to audiences especially in this day in age where nobody has picked up one book within the past 6 months of their lives that is totally not me what are you talking about

NOW FOR THE BEGINNING OF THE PAGE! Very similar to the middle, this part of the page has some more videos of the cast/crew talking about their film and other things :D
