Super awesome blog readers! I am so incredibly sorry for my absence. I have been working HARD on editing both CCR videos as I want them to be the best as they can be because I genuinely want to create something I will remain proud of.
But today, the worst possible thing that could ever happen, HAPPENED! I was worried about this since DAY 1 of CCR week....here watch this video that I filmed right after an absolute tragedy.
My computer. died. forever. FOREVER! This absolutely COULD NOT happen!! I HAD 2 WHOLE CCR VIDEOS ON THERE! SO MUCH PROGRESS! NO!!!!!! At first, as always, I was in denial that my computer went away forever but after staring at it for a good 5 minutes, I picked up the phone and called my brother about the whole thing.
Once I told him what went down, there was a certain urgent tone in his voice that really freaked me out and made me realize, "oh shit this is actually happening." My brother told me that what might have happened is that the internal battery of the computer died completely or it overheated, either way though it was recommended that I told my dad ASAP! But after I hung up, I didn't immediately call my dad, oh nah! With a newfound panic, I went downstairs to the office computer and downloaded Premiere Pro faster than me when I leave my lang class, with only a shrivel of hope left for my beloved CCR projects.
I signed into creative cloud, and searched if either of my projects were saved in the cloud...but to my luck
they were all gone
With anxious adrenaline pumping through my newfound panicked body, I began to SOB. I couldn't believe it! EVERYTHING! EVERY CUT! EVERY GRAPHIC! EVERY SOUND EFFECT! GONE!!!!! ALL GONE!! BYE BYE!! FOREVER!!!! I lost hope....I genuinely lost all hope for this project for a brief moment, I was petrified. I then finally got the strength to pick up my phone and call my dad about all of this. He was at the gym at the time, and when he got my call, I'm pretty sure he could already tell it was urgent from my discombobulated sobbing words. YAY!
After about 15 minutes, my dad came home, bursted through the door, and started to inspect the computer. He pressed and held down the power button multiple times....but to no avail. After 3 minutes, it was confirmed....my computer officially had run its course.
But we couldn't just sit there and do nothing! I had a project due in the next 70 hours! We had to sit our asses up and find a solution! It's funny that I'm saying this, because at the time, I lost all my faith in life...BUT I'M BACK! I'M STILL STANDING! LIKE I ALWAYS DO! YAY!
live footage of me persevering (I wanted to jump off a microwave)
So our solution? Go to BestBuy and see what the heck happened to my computer! And possibly get a new one! Because this project still exists! And so does school! Yay!

Once we got there and told them what happened to my 6 year old long gone laptop, the guys at Geek Squad said that what happened with my computer was most likely an internal system issue and that it needed a couple of days to be fixed so we can transport data from it to my possible new computer. LOVELY!
After talking and giving my old computer to Geek Squad, my dad and I began to hunt for a new victim (computer)! We were trying to find one that would be good for both gaming and normal computer stuff like being a slave to the public school system! YAY! We were taking a second to find one, and I think one of the worker dudes noticed that because he went up to us and asked if we needed any help. He showed us around and finally recommended the MSI laptop, a perfect combination of a gaming and normal computer! I immediately fell in love with it and my dad loved the price! SO HELL YEAH IT WAS A PURCHASE! (fun fact: it was the last one in stock....THE STARS ALIGNED!!)
So we got the computer, some sanity, and a thumb drive! Because from now on, I need to treat my projects like a princess in a carriage! LIKE ABSOLUTE GOLD. THEY CAN'T LEAVE AGAIN.
I then got home, set up the computer, and downloaded Premiere Pro! And as you may have guessed, I started editing! Both videos! From the ground up! All over again! JOY! But luckily, since I now know how to navigate Premiere Pro a lot better as I have spent all of my hours and then some on it as of lately, the process went by A LOT QUICKER! I got the line edit ready to go yesterday night in under 2 and a half hours! RECORD BREAKING FOR ME!!
I'm just about to finish up the line edit for CCR 2, and right after that it's graphics, sound effects, multimedia, and touch ups time! I should have my whole project ready by Monday afternoon/evening AT THE LATEST!!! THIS. WILL. BE. DONE. AND I WILL ENJOY MY SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!!
I'll see you all again soon once I submit the project and final reflection! Lesson learned? ALWAYS. ALWAYS ALWAYS SAVE. YOUR. PROJECT. ON. AN. EXTERNAL. HARDRIVE. ALWAYS. PLEASE. I BEG YOU. don't learn the hard way like I have today....it was truly the most anxiety I have felt since last year's Algebra EOC exam.
It's the final stretch, with only 48 hours remaining....LET'S FINISH THIS SHIT!!!
